Anyone using Camtasia? If so, are you also using a streaming service? Which one? Any challenges using SCORM with Moodle? Thoughts?
Thanks for the feedback, Greg! Primarily interested in Scorm built from Camtasia. Our LMS is a business site so SCORM is necessary. We get pre-built courses from other places, in addition to building out our own.
In terms of SCORMs, are you asking about the SCORM's you can create in Camtasia, or more generally?
In the case of Camtasia, I'd personally just use it to produce the screen videos and use other Moodle tools for interactivity.
More generally, there are a number of pitfalls to be aware of with SCORM. The biggest and most obvious is that the content is no longer editable in Moodle and you need to go back to the developer for every minor change.
There are also intrinsic issues of SCORM in terms of accessibility (esp WCAG compliance), responsiveness to different devices and screen orientations, and limited or unintelligible internal reporting.
My own preference is to develop content and activities directly in Moodle tools - Moodle books for content and H5P for interactivity/student engagement.
There is very little need for SCORM these days.
